Ben has had a love for moving image his whole life. What started out as a passion to draw and create art eventually evolved into taking photos, creating 2D/3D computer graphics and eventually video.

This interest led him to study Film Production Technology as an undergraduate at Staffordshire University in 2009. In 2012, he formed BSTB Film Ltd and began his professional journey into creating engaging video content for clients. A return to university allowed him to specialise in visual effects, completing a master’s degree focusing on the creation of Digital Environments for Film Production.

A newfound passion for academia opened new opportunities when he became an associate lecturer at the same university that allowed him to flourish as a filmmaker. Alongside his part-time higher education role, Ben worked with a selection of major clients, producing engaging video content with far-reaching audiences. Eventually, Ben achieved his goal of becoming a tenured lecturer in CGI and Visual Effects.

Ben fully embraces new technology but continues to utilise traditional analogue filmmaking methods, creating a bridge between the two. There’s a time and a place for everything and nothing is impossible.
